Joe Walsh‘s 1978 hit Life’s Been Good contains a lot of autobiographical nuggets, and over the years, plenty of people have wondered just how many of the examples of rockstar excess are based in reality.
In 2012 at the Troubadour Bar in West Hollywood, Uncle Joe spent a few minutes verifying some of the lyrics. Who inspired some of the mayhem described in the song? Who else but Keith Moon, of course. What’s the best way to tear out a hotel wall? A chainsaw comes in handy. And Joe actually did lose his driver’s license – but not for the reason you might think.
