If you see something which makes you think that you should say something, then by all means, say something.
I saw something and wasn’t sure if I should speak up, and as it turned out, I should have. The end result was that I lost a very good friend. I have no way of knowing whether or not I could have prevented that, but the regret will always stay with me.
With that said, today is International Overdose Awareness Day. If you pay any attention at all to what’s going on around here, you’ll know that the number of people we’re losing on a daily basis to toxic drugs is absolutely ridiculous. Island Health’s digital memory wall honors victims of illicit drugs, and is on display until Saturday September 30; on it, you can share memories, words, and images, stigma-free.
There are also many events being held today all over the island, and you can read about them, and get more info on the memory wall, here.
