About three years ago, the first ever authorized Led Zeppelin documentary premiered in rough cut form at the Venice Film Festival – and now, about five years after it was initially revealed, it’s finally coming to the big screen.
Sony Pictures Classics has acquired Becoming Led Zeppelin – a so called hybrid docu-concert film – which was made with the full cooperation of the band. It contains new interviews with Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, and John Paul Jones, along with never-before-heard chats with the late John Bonham. Becoming Led Zeppelin also features unseen early concert footage, including January 1969 Fillmore West gigs, the Atlanta Pop Festival in July of that year, and the Texas Pop Festival in August.
