Elton John dropped by The Late Show the other night for a chinwag with Stephen Colbert about his new documentary, Elton John: Never Too Late – and confirmed that we can expect new music from him: “You will be getting some more. The juices have never dried up. They never want to dry up because I’m always looking to create things. It’s just having the space now to do it on my own time. Of course there will be new Elton John music.”
The two also talked about his favorite (and not so favorite) Elton John songs, his personal struggles while dealing with the effects of superstardom, emerging from those struggles as a better person, The Long Ago Times before cellphones, internet, and all the rest, and some advice he would have given his younger self if he had the chance. Spoiler: it’s about cocaine.
