Phil Collins – who recently was reported to be working on his first new music in about twenty years – has done a rare interview, in which he gives us a health update.
The 73 year old, who looked rather frail in the chat, was candid about his health issues, and spoke about how he’s still adjusting to not being able to play the drums anymore: “If I can’t do what I did as well as I did it, I’d rather relax and not do anything.”
Collins suffered a spinal injury in 2007 which damaged his upper neck vertebrae and caused nerve damage. As a result, he was unable to even hold drumsticks, and during the final Genesis show a couple of years ago, he performed sitting in a chair.
